Blog1998 ≫ Barfly

Barfly are part of the company that I work for 1, they run venues in Camden (AKA The Monarch 2), Cardiff, Glasgow, Liverpool and York. I've made a calendar system for them that updates their website, and am currently expanding this.

In a bizarre small world sort of way, I built a content management system for them over five years ago, but I didn't finish it and it all fizzled out... if they had, how different would things have been? I may have been more instrumental in the formation of Channelfly, and history would have been rewritten, popex may never have gone professional...

Some of the output of the system I made is still available online here 3, no idea why...

Barfly listings from 1999

  1. Worked for, did I work there in 1998 though? Why does this post appear to be from 1998? Ah, I did the earlier version of the website in 1998!
  2. Previously had a link to www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/show.shtml/3574/ here
  3. Ah it was still here at some point way beyond the point it should have been avnet.co.uk/barfly/new/ but gone now. web.archive.org says it was still there in 2008, so I added screen grabs. And then as a bonus a screengrab of the site I was bidding to replace, listing "The Coldplay", ones to watch I'd say.
