Not really enough room for a pool table - although the lounge is 24' (A-B) by 18' (A-C) 1 at it's widest points, the right hand bit (where the table would ideally go) is more like eleven or twelve feet, which isn't wide enough. The table would fit in the biggest bit of the room, but that doesn't feel right somehow.
It was fantastically decorated, really looked good, and also it was empty, both of which made it feel big, but I think with furniture in it wouldn't have seemed big enough
There was nowhere to put the hoover 2. A really silly sounding point, but there were a few other practical gotchas - it seemed a lot like a hotel suite, and not like a real home, I didn't want to try and move in there and find out there was nowhere to put stuff that you forget about, like an ironing board and other practical things
No outside space, no garden or balcony, I think I need one or the other
High service charge
My friend I was with 3, who's looking for something similar said he liked it but wouldn't buy it, an important one 4
So, a shame, especially as it was in an apparently good area of town with a sea view, and with secure underground parking. Keep looking!
I'm still doing feet and inches here, why? It's 2003! Well at the time I wrote that it was, it's 2022 now I'm doing this director's commentary.
I'm wondering now if there was some clever hidden storage, There ought to have been.
Revisiting this post SEVENTEEN years later, I assume this was the flat on Clifton Road that I went to look at but can't remember who I went to look at it with...
Now reading this again almost exatly nineteen years later 1) I think it must have been Dean or Dom who came with me. I didn't have any other friends in Folkestone. 2) I don't remember reviewing this two years ago (nineteen years after the original). 3) I am LOVING THIS that I actually drew a plan of the flat, it's all coming back to me now! I can visualise this flat right now, but I still can't see where the hoover would go. 4) I probably should have bought it, the place we did buy had no outside space either, and it had a service charge, and this one had a secure underground parking space.
