I HAVE WHAT IS KNOWN AS A "DEAD MANS PENNY." THAT IS A MEDAL AWARDED FOR BRAVERY IN THE 1914-1918 WAR. IT IS TO ACTING CORPORAL WHITMORE CLARKE WHO WAS WITH THE HAMPSHIRE REGIMENT.
ON THE 1901 CENSUS THEIR IS A WHITMORE CLARKE BORN IN SEDGLY STAFFORDSHIRE. DO NOT KNOW IF THIS IS THE SAME ONE. THIS WAS FOUND IN CORNWALL, DO NOT KNOW HOW-WHEN OR WHY.!
