Blog2014 ≫ New "Thread" protocol for wireless home automation

Here on venturebeat 1, Nest (google) and others have got together to come up with a new standard protocol for wirelessly connected home automation devices.

A little more progress on the voice control of the robot butler yesterday, Clare got involved for the first time, barking instructions at it to turn the lights on and off. We had some success, still feels to flakey and slow to be of any use. Possibly the cheapo microphone 3 that I bought though, I might try with a better one next pay day.
