Have removed jquery and it's properly sped up. Got the photos working again, a nice gallery rotating in the middle of the screen there, and all without a big bloated library of javascript. Just my own library of only slightly bloated javascript.
Following tips from yellowlab.tools 1 that I mentioned before. Still a way to go, but the homepage now gets a really good score with no loss of functionality. This blog is slightly hostage to the content I post here, so there might be big images and there might be twitter gadgets or whatever so it's not quite as fast, but it's not bad.
