Blog2015 ≫ 5/8 of the way through my mid-holiday break

Four days of work inbetween two holidays. WFH today, it's lunchtime on the third of those four days... Been battling away all morning on a weird issue. Using browserstack.com 1 to test how a page I have made responds on the iphone, and it looks like a date is getting mangled. Basically I made a test to choose the 23rd of the month on a calendar on one page, do some things and then look at the result on the next page. It's all fine everywhere, except on iphone on browserstack when the date is losing a day. I think I've narrowed it down to me calling "new Date( )" in my javascript, passing in value of the format YYYY-MM-DD. Look out for this one, there might be older iphones that don't like this and get the date wrong, looks like the emulator on browserstack does... get to check out if I'm right after lunch, when my change is live and it can be tested externally again.

  1. Removed old browserstack.com link here.
