Here from Energenie 1 actually doing sockets and switches now. I wonder if the protocol is the same..?
Energenie have always looked a bit more "diy friendly" than lightwaverf were, with their raspberry pi board, but there seem to be a few more interesting features here. 1) the double socket reports back its status by the looks, so you can query if it is on or off. 2) some of their devices report back energy usage (though not this one). 3) this light switch 2 seems to be a proper switch, not just a dimmer, so could work with led bulbs and colour changing things. Might be worth investigating. With the diy approach I should be able to mix and match. The main thing holding me back was not being able to do the energy monitoring diy, but maybe now I can...
raspberry pi: Credit card sized super cheap computer, awesome.
