Cannot get lifts today, but cycled to my normal spot at RHDR anyway to get the bus from there. The bus timetables changed last year and there's no bus from near our house all the way to work at a reasonable time. Good news it is only two quid to get the bus up the hill (I'm not quite ready to ride up that hill on the final leg to work, but maybe in the Summer). Less great news is the bus goes a new route, round the houses, via Saltwood, Brockhill school and Sandling station now. I was at least semi prepared for this from when I got a confusing bus home in the dark that time. Anyway, in work on time.
HOWEVER, would you look at those black clouds? I heard there was snow forecast but I thought "not here" as I couldn't see it on here and thought it would miss our our Kentish microclimate. But will we have problems on the way to Portchester? Now I see the black clouds here, so it looks like it's coming here, will just have to take each day as it comes. Plenty of fuel in the car, spare clothes, hot drinks and food, prepared for anything. Leaving as early as we can on Thursday. Ideally right after school. Work suggested I go even early to make sure, as I can work from there if I need to, but we need to think about school and Clare's work too so it's a no-go.
Went on the treadmill at lunch yesterday, my new how much is it costing me works well. Had a brief go in the evening, but only five minutes so not counting it.
Hmm can I get back home again in time for swimming tonight? Hopefully yes, maybe the lift is back on. The workmate who could not give me a lift because of a mini-conference in London we were both meant to go to is now not going to said conference, because of the thread of snow.
