We dropped the boys off after getting back from Croxtons and went straight out again. My original plan was to go to the Cormorant but Clare's bad knee put paid to that. We settled on the Seagull, but it's truly rubbish in there. I had a couple of Greene King beers that I don't like, and Clare had a gin and tonic. Then Clare went home and I left messages for friends that I was moving on and ran (actually ran) to the Delme.
There is real cider and a free jukebox in the Delme so I entertained myself while waiting for Dave to arrive, then had a couple of pints with him and a nice catch up. I am a bit jealous of his forthcoming work trips to the USA but if it came to it would I really want to go and leave my family for that time?
Everyone in the pub seemed to be going to or talking about the football the next day (Portsmouth at Wembley) and indeed Dave was going too. If it wasn't mothers day I would probably have gone too.
Foolishly left the pub a bit early really so I did not get any steps in after midnight, so no headstart for the next day...
