It's likely to be four weeks today, but hmm feeling a bit ripped off with this forthcoming cataracts operation! I thought it was going to be good for at least a week off, but this says no 1:
Dos and don'ts For the first few weeks after surgery:
Do:
- use your eye drops as instructed
- take it easy for the first 2 to 3 days
- use your eye shield at night for at least a week
- take painkillers if you need to
- bathe or shower yourself as usual
- wear your eye shield when washing your hair
- read, watch TV and use a computer
- use your shield, old glasses or sunglasses outdoors
- avoid swimming for 4 to 6 weeks
Don't:
Take it easy for the first 2 to 3 days sounds like that's my maximum amount of time off, but if I shouldn't drive, can I go to work? This is the next saving grace:
If you work, how soon you can return will largely depend on your type of job and if you need new glasses.
Yeah I work and I will need new glasses, is that going to be good for a few more days off..?
Don't do any strenuous exercise or housework is double-edged - no housework, get in! But no parkrun for a few weeks it sounds like. I will take this opportunity to do some volunteering, but then I have to walk there so would be a much earlier start...
