I have been a bit blase about this so far. These deaths were just numbers, and people die anyway. I was suspicious of friends of friends who said they knew someone who had died. Now I know someone though and caught me completely by surprise. A real shame, it is Steve, a friend from the Inn Doors. He was always good fun and interesting to drink with, he had lots of stories from his time of being a detective and the legal work he had been doing more recently. We had opposing political views but could always put those to one side and have a drink together.

I didn't get round to posting anything the last couple of days. We don't have much to report on, I have done the same sitting about the house. I have not finished the painting, nor done any of the other jobs Clare has lined up for me. A friend from popbitch did get in touch to say "shall we do something" so I am making something and will report back.
A high of 12° and a low of 9°. Definitely felt it and started to spit with rain when we went out for our walk. Should I even have gone for a walk as I ran a 5k again this morning? The run was quite hard, I'd already done the Joe Wicks workout, and then I ran up the hill for a change, and round Sandgate. Since starting running again, I have lost the extra weight I put on during that rest time. So more crisps and beer!
I finished another Hunger Games book.
Author | Book | Thoughts |
---|---|---|
Ian Rankin | Westwind 1 | Dated thriller, shame. |
Ian Rankin | Doors Open 1 | Really good crime caper in Edinburgh but with no Rebus. |
Suzanne Collins | The Hunger Games 1 | Borrowed from the children, very good. |
Suzanne Collins | Catching Fire 1 | Hunger Games part 2, a bit darker, I read this one faster. |
Suzanne Collins | Mockingjay 1 | Hunger Games part 3, might as well complete the trilogy. |
5k: Five km, about three miles to you.
