I walked past the Inn Doors the last couple of days and they have their decorations up, as do other businesses along that way. I hope we get back in to the pubs before christmas. It would be nice to see family before christmas too, but it would also be nice to go to the pub.
Up early this morning for another run. I've run and walked over 100km since last Monday, and will keep doing the early morning runs for the rest of this week. The challenge ends on Friday.
Lloyds shares had a very good day today, up 7.5% in one day! Opened the day at 35.48p and ended 38.28p.They will take a dive in the morning I'm sure, but I'm up since I started investing.
I've officially spent 90% of my redundancy pay. This does include the third of it I spent by paying off the mortgage, and the extra premium bonds, holiday savings, and shares I've bought and so on. It's still gone though, it is no longer ready cash in my current account. The situation looks slightly worse today than it should, as my pay day has shifted, but my direct debits are all the same and come out on the first of the month. So I've done pretty much a month's worth of spending today, on mortgage, groceries, bills, etc, and I don't get paid for ten days. It will definitely settle down, and I'm still well in the black. I've probably not really spent 90% of the redundancy in fact, it will all bounce right back next week.
Advent calendar day today. Clare got me two advent calendars, one is the daily hot sauce that I hinted at, and the other is a daily craft cider that she had already bought before I showed any interest in the chilli one. The boys are pleased with theirs, full of sweets. I missed out on the Brewdog one that I got Clare last year so have made my own, an IPA of the day. Advent calendar inflation has gone crazy.
There is a Fortnite update at 9pm tonight that we are letting thing one stay up for, I hope this does not prove to be a mistake. I like him to have a big buffer between screen time and bed time but that's not happening today. Oh nearly forgot, he lost his phone today at school! The school phoned to say he was upset, couldn't get on the bus as his bus pass is an app on his phone and could we come and get him. Luckily I could track the phone from here, lock it, and see it was still in the school. He found it again before Clare got to him, he'd put it down in the bathroom...
Two gig anniversaries for the day, The Cure in 2016 and The Darkness in 2001, at The Water Rats, the tiny venue I will pass every time I walk to my new office...
Michael Gove says no plans for a vaccine passport, so in other words, there will definitely be some sort of vaccine passport.
There are no plans to introduce a "vaccine passport" to give people access to places such as pubs and restaurants once a coronavirus jab becomes available, says Michael Gove.
