Nice I have next week off, and we're still in this code freeze, so it feels a fun time at work. Actually done quite a lot today, I had a change I wwanted to make on all the systems and it seems a good time as we can't do anything "proper". I can't publish this change, but as it's really about tidying up rather than making a difference on the end result to customers it is ok, it's all still done.
Yesterday we paid the deposit on the new Hyundai. Not sure when we will get it yet. Not that there is anywhere to go in it.
I think the government are quite likely to announce new rules saying no-one is to go anywhere over christmas. More talks are planned. As friend Stu said on twitter today 1:
Feels like people who think it’s unsafe to meet up with family for Christmas won’t do it even if the govt says it’s fine, and people who are determined to meet up will do that even if the govt u-turns and says it’s not fine.
They really have squandered any authority they had...
I got a big new delivery of wine yesterday and of coffee today so we'll be OK for a bit. Oh got our new fridge freezer yesterday too, so we're good for bulk cooking dinners. We're definitely not stockpiling all the frozen veg, oh no. But if you'd like some peas after Brexit because you've got scurvy and there are no vegetables to be had, maybe we can do a deal.
Haven't run since Saturday. I thought I might today, but then remembered I had the dentist. All went fine, I have the best teeth. Hello if you are the dentist reading this, I'm pleased with Pennypot Dental 2, they've all been really nice. Clare still sees our original dentist as she moved to the new surgery with him. It was too far for me to be able to visit before going to work so I stayed at the original practice.
I wasn't going to drink today but Clare has opened one of the new bottles of wine to put in a beef stew! I'd better have some before she bakes it all away.
