Another day of lockdown. I got up early this morning to go for a run, but the rain looked too bad. Did not fancy that in the dark but determined to run every day so I did 5km on the treadmill instead. Then at lunchtime it looked to be at least a bit lighter if not much drier, so I did another 5km then. I do tend to go slightly faster when I am having to jump over puddles, and I was in a bit of a hurry to get back to work so that might have been my fastest time of the year so far.
Didn't sleep so well, partly because Clare pointed out a weird noise, a sort of tapping scratching noise, and then I was focussed on that. It sounded like a bird on the roof, maybe it was a big mouse or something though.
We woke up to a flat tyre on the Hyundai, completely flat. Clare has no idea how it happened, she wondered if it could have been related to the noise in the night. Someone is coming out to fix it tomorrow, it's easier than me trying to figure out how to change it for the spare (at least I think we have a spare) and then take it in to be replaced anyway.
Home schooling seems to have been hard and confusing today. I was working down in my study but Clare was struggling a bit with the supervising of both of them. They really do need almost constant attention.
I got them a Roku streaming thing 1 for the TV in the playroom, so they can watch TV down there now. We can't get a normal TV signal and the satellite dish only goes into the box in the lounge. Most TV is over streaming services now anyway, and of that they mostly only watch youtube. This Roku device gives them even more channels than we have in the lounge, as we can't get channel 4 on demand for some reason. I think I'm going to get one for the monitor I have above the treadmill, my raspberry pi entertainment screen idea never really worked out. They also bought themselves this mini fridge 2, so they hardly need to leave that room.
A bad day for people dying of the coronavirus. As if there are any good days for this.
