Blog ≫ 2021 ≫ Got shoots on my hop plant

I joined the Hythe Hops scheme again. Last year they completely failed to grow, but they still gave me a share of the beer anyway, so I have nothing to lose! And this year I think I have fixed a few of last year's mistakes.

  1. I got the hop plant into the ground a lot quicker, within two days of collecting it, where it was three weeks last time.
  2. I kept the plant damp until it did go in the ground, I think it dried out lst time.
  3. Perhaps most importantly I planted them the right way up.

A very busy week again. I have played the XBox a little, tried to play Call Of Duty 1, a massive multiplayer shooting game. It's quite hard to play, very hard to play well, and it's way too intense to be relaxing or enjoyable. I will persevere a bit as Ro is very keen and it was nice to chat with him while learning the game. Maybe there is a game out there that is better for me (I quite like Forza 1), but maybe I'm just not a gamer.

Thing one has mostly been playing Fortnite, the same game he plays on the other console, and thing two is not playing it at all. Not got our money's worth out of this so far.
