Thing one is going into hospital next week, though it's scheduled this time rather than reacting to an emergency. This means we have to take a coronavirus test three days before, and then isolate until we go in. This is fine for me, I'm working from home anyway. It's even better for the boys I suspect as it means they can't go into school for a few days before, so their half term is extended. It's probably even even better better for Clare, as she can't not go to work, so she's going to a hotel for these days. This is not ideal for us I would say, but it does mean we have no problems juggling the car which we'd need for the trip to the hospital on the day.
It does clash with thing one's actual birthday, but not with his weekend birthday celebrations. Then hopefully we'll be back on track again by the following weekend.
These Peruvian coronavirus numbers seem to have come out of nowhere, they've rocketed into number five in the death charts when they have not been in the top ten since the end of 2020. I guess this means they have not been reporting numbers accurately until today but I don't know. Looks like the peak in India has passed at least.
