Friday straight to the pub after work, lovely. Walked to the Clarendon first as it was just about nice enough still to sit outside. Friday was the slightly peaky rainy day in a week of nice days. From there on to the Inn Doors for lovely beer and chat, did not stay too late.
Early birthday treats today for thing one, as it's his birthday in the week. First to the "sky walk" in Folkestone with a couple of friends, and then on to Luben for a late lunch. We were a group of eight, because he had two friends with him, and thing two had a friend too, and grandpa came too. You can't have a group of eight at the moment, so we were sat on different tables. I sat with the two younger boys, and Clare and her dad sat with the other three. I think we were following the law and behaving safely.
I cut the lawn when we got back, as it had got to the point where it's actually taller than it is wide. I have done a fairly poor job, but deliberately not cut it too short. I trimmed the bush too, it's looking OK out there. I can hear it has spurred the neighbour to do her side now, just to make sure we remain the scruffy side.
Tonight we might watch Age Of Ultron 1, though will forego the traditional pizza tea obviously. The boys won't be able to eat anything I think. Everyone had pizzas, except Clare and I who both went for the salad. My salad is really a huge dish of roast potatoes and other veg, not really very salady, I couldn't finish it today.
Oh nearly forgot I did get up earlyish and go for a run this morning, just 5km, but up the hill and around the barracks. We were talking in the pub yesterday about how you need to mix up your exercise to get any benefit at all out of it. Just doing the same flat run isn't really doing me much good.
Time for a sit down and a read on the balcony now before the sun goes. I'm still reading Tales From The Fast Trains 1 just very slowly.
