What a waste, after a week of abstinence and even some mild training I then did not go to parkrun this morning. Did you hear that thunder? I was sure a huge storm was on the way and I could not leave the kids at the parkrun finish line waiting for me, even if only for the twenty-five minutes or so. As it turns out there was a lot of thunder and lightning but almost no rain. So instead we're going to take the bus into Folkestone and go swimming, then come back via some lunch and Waterstones too.
I say a week of not drinking, it was if you don't include Friday. Right after work we all went to the Clarendon for one and played some Top Trumps, then they went home and I went on to the Inn Doors for a couple more. I did not drink a lot though, still planning to be up early and run this morning at that stage.
We have done an Olympics tally chart, we each picked five countries during the opening ceremony. I picked mine after I came back from the Inn Doors, maybe I didn't pick the smartest countries. Oh of course you have to be good on your flags to know which countries we picked anyway. If it helps Clare has 1420 individual olympic competitors, and I have only 686.
Making lots of plans for a trip to London next week, including going up The Shard 1, and now I'm wondering about Marble Arch Mound too. We have an extra few hours in town now that Clare has got the whole day off. We thought we were going to have to head up after she finished.
