Second day of commuting went as well as the first. This is a breeze so far. It's costing me £75 pounds a time, but it's easy. I still haven't figured out how to put my train ticket on the smart ticket, so had to collect from the ticket machine again. If I work this out next week it can save me five minutes of queueing.
Work was constant meetings, but they all went OK. They had the potential to be less cheery, there could have been some "why's it not done yet, whose fault is it? Paul's fault!" but it's all good and we're on schedule I think.
I was thinking last week "my working day is now eleven and a half hours instead of eight", but the twenty five minute walk each way is really just my post work exercise time in two shifts. And the fifty minutes each way train is time to sit and read and do my Duolingo and check my phone and so on, so not time wasted. It's relaxation time I'd be sitting and checking my phone and doing Duolingo at home, but now I'm probably doing more reading.
I had lunch from the same place as last week in Leather Lane market, a spicy falafal wrap. We ate in the church grounds, lovely weather and nice to get out. Another thing I'd not do at home.
I pass at least a dozen pubs on my walk from the office to the station, I wonder if I'll keep passing them. Today I had to be back so Clare could go to pump class but some time soon I'm thinking of after work drinks.
Just made my train home with one minute to spare as I stopped in a shop, gotta watch that.
Twenty years ago today I was seeing The Darkness at the Barfly. Twenty years ago lots of days this year I think I can say the same...
