I've said "I'm busy" so many times over the last year, it always feels busy in this job. It's really good though, we've done some good stuff and actually hit our deadline. We're now in a position to help out other teams and do some of the extra optional stuff that is getting everything into a really nice position. I moved my "in the office" day to Thursday this week, and as a result got to meet two more of my workmates for the first time, and met some other people from around the business. There's still not quite enough room for everyone to work there and maintain social distancing if we all turned up at once, and it's not quite as productive as working from home I think. Still, it's so rare I go into London it feels good. Nice to be walking down busy streets and seeing all the cafes and pubs busy, even if I didn't have time to go in myself.
What else since I last had time to post here? Still not got a plumber, only one has responded at all and they don't want the job. I'm reaching out to some more. One electrician got back to say they will come round and quote for fitting some new sockets on Monday so that's good. It's not super urgent but I've been living with extension leads trailing round the skirting board of thing one's room and my study. Will be nice to tidy that up. Toilet is more important though.
Interesting tales of misleading vaccine claims specifically aimed at children, who now qualify for the vaccine. Thing one is having the vaccine, but there are tales of protests outside schools against it. I have long believed these are not just spontaneously formed groups of concerned parents, it is an organised group trying to stop the UK getting vaccinated for some reason. Pay day today. I bought some more stonks and we're off to Westfield Cross at Stratford tomorrow, right after parkrun. A day of shopping while the boys are at clubs and friends houses, and then grandpa is picking them up after that too, so we can have a grown up day. Mostly of me looking at things and not buying them and Clare loading up with bags and bags.
Hilariously inevitable that foreign butchers and lorry drivers are to be allowed into the country to deal with brexit, yet no more British workers will be allowed visas to work in Europe. How's that taking back control working out for you?
