Man alive it was cold and wet out there this morning. Only 120 runners today, and it was hard, and slow, at least for me. Pleased to have done it, always feels good. I was shaking with cold and struggled to do my bike helmet up for the ride home as my fingers were numb.
If I'd got up earlier I could have been a bit better prepared, but we went out last night to see Billy Bragg. He was very good, I'd forgotten how many songs I liked. Went for a few drinks at the Firkin Alehouse first which was nice too. Surely can't be a coincidence that they had a New England IPA called Space Hardware.
It's my 30th Nirvanaversary today, the anniversary of the one time I saw Nirvana of course, at Birmingham Hummingbird. This day in 1991.
It's also the day for us to pay for our trip to Zurich. Is it really going to happen? Surely we're about to head into another crazy lockdown to try and stop the spread of this new coronavirus variant. It sounds like a really really serious one if it's enough to crash the stock market. After a few months of good performance my portfolio had it's biggest single day of movement. Unfortunately down. The crypto also had a bit of a crash, would be a good to buy some more, but I don't have spare cash for a couple of weeks.
Should I buy an electric car? Can I afford one? I don't want a car at all, should I just keep getting taxis to and from the station? What about an electric bike? Mum and Dad were impressed with this one 1 that they saw a tthe Ideal Home Show. I'm not sure it really folds down enough to take on the train, but maybe. I saw a Raleigh bike the other day that looked quite neat maybe it was this one 2. That gets me to and from the station alright (except maybe in bad snow) but it doesn't really help with running the boys around places when Clare is at work. I really don't want a car though. Speaking of snow there is some forecast today! Not seen it yet but I've had reports of it in Winchester and Fareham.
One more fun thing, sounds like there is a new micropub opening in Portchester, called Portcullis Taphouse.
