There was every danger of me forgetting I was going to a gig last night, but no, I remembered, and I even went! Feeling a bit under the weather with a cold 1 so if I wasn't going with a friend I might have chucked it in. Clare gave us a lift and we went for a cheeky beer first at The Firkin Alehouse, and when that closed early we went for another one round at the Bouverie Tap.
Gig was really good, we had crazy seats, in the middle on the second row. Leas Cliff Hall is not really a big venue though anyway. The music was not what I expected, I couldn't find any of this album, this band, on Spotify. It's a sort of dark folky sound, but the songs are a lot of covers of very old songs, like 1920s.
Worked out while we were at the gig we could get freebies for Skunk Anansie at the same venue, through my friend's work, but I can't make it.
Could not get a taxi so we got chips and walked home, and it was quite a balmy evening, so all good.
Twenty years ago this very day I was at another gig, Super Furry Animals in Hackney, an MTV show. Also Cooper Temple Clause and Vex Red, and it looks like I had tickets to give away.
My cold felt worse again this morning, but not so bad now. I'll do another test later, as it seems covid is rattling through the family.
Ooh Trooli are here to fit my new super fast broadband.
