I had half an idea to do a long run today, and I think I did it. I had an idea to do a run ending up at the Inn Doors. Was going to run to Folkestone and back to the Inn Doors, that would have been long enough. Then thought if I run to the first bridge across the canal and back along Princes Parade a) that gives be a get out at Sandgate and it still counts, but also if I still made it to Folkestone then that's a bit longer. Then running felt good, so I ran to Hythe, just beyond where I'd normally turn round at Hythe, and then just kept going when I came back. I paused for a photo opportunity at the Harbour Arm (see below), and then ran back to Sandgate and stopped at the Inn Doors as planned. That was 15km, which seems to be my longest run on Strava. Have had some comments on there already, I think people are wondering if someone stole my watch as I never usually run that far, but no, that was all me. Met a friend in there and had a few pints.
Now I'm home, Clare has already gone out to a comedy show 1. The boys are not back yet, but my dinner I bought earlier from Tesco is in the oven. A tray back of potatoes and veges to go with a vegan "steak melt" along with some guacamole and coleslaw, it is going to be quite a feast. And then we have some big sharing bags of crisps to share later while I watch Eurovision with the boys. Then up tomorrow to run again!
Smashing the running challenge. With today's extra effort I have done 76km this week alone, an average of just about 11km per day, This makes 128km so far this month. Not quite half way through the month and 64% done. And that is 64% of my stretch target, 128% of my original target.
