Not a hugely successful day really. We tried to go swimming, we went to Folkestone Sports Centre first and the pool was closed as a lifeguard had gone sick. Then we headed to Hythe and the pool there was closing so we could not go in. Then thing two was very keen to go to the skate park, as he'd done this yesterday with his cousin. I already had the scooter in the car, so to the skate park in Hythe. That was fun, until he fell and hurt himself a bit, so we stopped, and then decided skateboarding would be better, could we go home and get the skateboard? So a round trip to fetch that and all the pads but the skateboarding was harder than he'd thought, so was not fun. The skateboard itself got the blame, so we might give it another go. We do have more than one and I do remember this complaint from thing one as well. This cheap board from Sports Direct just has no give at all and cannot be steered. We'll have a go with another skateboard another day. I'd really like them both to get into it, especially as we have that new skating and climbing centre 1.
Early start in the morning to go to London. Think I'm commuting in on a 7:30 train now, but will go a bit earlier to try and get free parking. If I don't get the free parking then I'm in trouble, but hopefully I'll be early enough to be able to book paid parking on the phone. I will try the back of the station first but I think that must fill up quickly with the early commuters. My other option is to park at Three Hills Sports Centre, a ten minute walk away. Should be fine.
