Another hectic week. We have managed ok with Clare still being away though. She thinks we're going to eat takeaways and junk every day while she's in Ireland, and it's a fair shout. Sunday they had quiche and salad. Monday after the cinema I got the boys a takeaway, but then I came back and had a mini curry, just a portion of the one I'd made in the Ninja. Our meal plans are all out of whack this week, partly because of the bank holiday too - Monday should be penne arrabiata day! Tuesday we had the full curry with all the accompaniments. I did have to go down to the petrol station to try and get naan, as I realised too late we didn't have any. No naan, but I did find poppadums, so we're good to go. Wednesday I did them chicken wraps with rice and salad, and I had the same but some of the free vegeburgers I got a couple of weeks ago. Last night we had chilli, a really good one that Clare had made before she went. Usually I make and it's not as good as this, what was the mysterious different ingredient? At last it's Friday, so Friday tea, so something in the oven like I always used to have. Still a few more days to survive after that.
The boys have gone to school every day, dressed and everything. Today T2 needs to take a t-shirt in to decorate, they're all going to wear these t-shirts when they do their SATs next week. He's quite calm about it, not bothered at all. He had the last of the extra SATs practice after school yesterday. He's going to smash it, but it doesn't really gain him anything, he's already in to the grammar school.
Work has been crazy busy, I'm on a new project with an unfeasibly short deadline. None of the things were in place in advance so I'm winging it a bit, but I think I'm doing ok. Work must think I'm doing ok as I just got my bonus announced yesterday, and it is enough to pay for the holiday. Which is good as the money was basically already spent. Will get it in the pay packet two weeks from today and then probably have to pay the balance with the travel agent the following day. Easy come, easy go. I get a pay rise too but it's only inflationary I think.
Had some free energy yesterday 1, managed to fit in washing, drying, mowing the lawn, ironing, and made some food in the Ninja, all in a lunch time.
Got some more home automation bits to fit this weekend. Dare I automate the blinds in our room? Don't think Clare will like it, but she's not hear. And I have a couple of power monitoring plus which I've lined up for the washing machine and dryer, can use it it monitor them remotely. When they were turned on, for how long, how long each one is costing.
Suddenly spotted in the week that a twingeing pain in my hip had completely vanished. It had been hanging around for a couple of weeks, like something was twisted. Maybe I was too busy to notice it?
Sunny and a gentle breeze, 9 - 18℃.
