There's a new bar opened yesterday, called The Board Room. It's an Iron Pier tap room, and it's very good. No real ale yet but that is coming. Spoke to the owner who said 80% of their beer is cask ale, but they only had the keg versions in this bar for the opening. The soft launch was yesterday, and it's about half open. We went for a look today as we could see a sign saying "Shuffleboard and darts", that's the bit that's not ready yet. It's in some shipping containers at the end of the car park of the Harbour Arm, so it's got panoramic sea view.
This is the view from the bar, of the outside seating area, rather than a picture of the bar.
A lovely day all told. We had lunch at home, then I dragged the boys to Folkestone, but as a compromise I parked at the harbour arm car park, instead of walking right down through town. This is how we spotted the new bar. The arm itself was good today, a band called Hullabaloo playing, and with the weather being absolutely fantastic it was heaving there. Took us ages to find a parking space, and the traffic was backed up a bit just getting in to that bit of town.
I bought a few snacks and treats while we were there, and now we're home again. A little sit on the balcony in the sun, an hour of gaming time, then pizzas for tea and then Eurovision. I have Czechia, Norway, Luxembourg, Estonia, Austria, and Sweden in the sweepstake. There are six of us in, we seem to have too many countries, I think I might have messed it up. This is the sweepstake kit I got from Metro newspaper though. I think my money is lost.
A clear sky and a moderate breeze, 11 - 20℃.
