Blog2024 ≫ Bank holiday starts here

Ah no it doesn't quite, Clare is at work. She's doing a 1pm to 11pm today, and Saturday, and Sunday. So much for our weekend. Not just no 5pm pub for me but no day trip out somewhere with lovely lunch for us all.

It was pay day today, and I have some money burning a hole, so I'm going to head to Canterbury tomorrow anyway. On my own, the boys are at Grandpa's for the day. I need to go and pay off the holiday even if I don't do anything else.

I already ordered some wine and some home automation gubbins (a new power monitor plug for the rarely-used treadmill and a light switch for the bathroom) plus taking a chance on some smart radiator valves 1. Yes it says I need a special hub to make it work, but that's what the power monitoring plugs say also from the same company, and I made them work with Home Assistant alone.

Finished work, worked very hard again, going to shut it down properly at 5pm and go for a walk in the sunshine. Then back to put the tea in (did a pay day Tesco trolley dash and have ready meal spaghetti bolognaise and garlic bread for the three of us) and then we'll carry on with another Marvel film; Black Panther.

We all have Monday off together so if the weather stays nice we'll go out then. If the weather is not good we might go up to Stratford or something.

A clear sky and light winds, 7 - 18℃.
