Blog2024 ≫ Slightly disappointing Friday

Took the day off Friday, had some chores to do and thought I'd take the boys out somewhere. In the end the weather was really quite bad all day. They did their treadmill warm-ups, but no running outside. Then we did manage to do some charity shop runs, got rid of some books and some clothes. I knew the school had put out a call for nearly new books suitable for the library so we took a bag in there too. This was also one of my jobs, to go and pick up a blazer badge from the school, but I needed cash for this (had none) or do the payment online (wasn't logged in on my phone). So a little run around, in the rain, back to a supermarket, via lots of roadworks to find a cashpoint then back to the school. This whole task was bitty and annoying, as were the charity shop runs really as it was hard to find a parking space. Same with the actual blazer shop, but at least we got that bought, with the badge in hand, so it could be sewn on for us to collect. Then to Folkestone Sports Centre for swimming, but it was closed to the public for a kids club. So we just gave up and went home. Let them play video games for the rest of the afternoon. Clare finished work at half three, so I went to pick her up and she drove me on to the Potting Shed, where I stayed for the rest of the evening. Not exactly an achievious day, and a bit of a wash out, but not a complete disaster by the end. Saw various friends in the pub and caught up on the local news. The Fountain in Seabrook is under new ownership, maybe it will turn good! Fingers crossed.
