Blog2024 ≫ Well that is all the money gone then

Booked a hotel in London for FOUR NIGHTS for when T1 does his work experience. It probably won't cost a lot more than travelling there and back each day for the two of us. We've got a Travelodge near the office. It won't be luxurious, and there might not even be room for Clare and T2 to come and join us, but we'll see. I got it on a flexible rate so can cancel up to the last minute.

Fate knew I was spending money, and it has dealt me a bad hand. TV just went pop. I've had a look around it, turned it off and on again, tried various useless internet searches for what it might be (the web is SO BAD these days), changed the fuse, but it looks like it is kaput. Good news, I bought it three and a half years ago and there's a five year guarantee! Bad news, can I prove it? It's not on the email, though at least I do have the email receipt. I will have to phone Currys, maybe go up there and try it.

It sounds like an easy repair, sounds like the power supplies go, and I heard of people getting a new one for £40 and replacing it themselves. That would be a last resort.

Definitely not looking at new more massive TVs, oh no. Might sell some premium bonds.

Light rain showers and light winds, 8 - 15℃.
