Well more or less. T1 did his DofE expedition, trekking and camping. I think they did about a ten mile route on day one, ending up at a place where the tents were already left set up. Didn't hear from him but they were meant to have their phones confiscated. Then happened to send him some info for his work experience next week and he responded "ok" at about 8am on Saturday morning. Then no more answers to my questions, how is it going, why have you got your phone still. Then a message later from an unknown number, they'd had to hand their phones back in again but had this simple Nokia for emergencies. Picked him up again at five and he was exhausted and scratched to bits by brambles. He looked like he'd been in a jungle war.
The titanium plate and cutlery came back too, and not still caked in food either. He managed to cook his trail rations ok, he did not starve.
