Went to London, but get this, I went and voted before I went! The polling station (The Fountain) was open at seven, so I had time to go there, vote, and still get to the station in plenty of time. I was the first person to vote at that polling station, pleased with that.
When I got to the station, or rather my free parking near the station, a lady asked me to move the car. She wanted to park outside her house and if I moved down a bit she could, so I did. I'm not a petty man. She said it's going to be permit parking only there soon, I said that's good to know. I might apply for a permit just to park outside her house, I am a petty man really.
Journey to work was fine, weather was warm, too warm warm to wear my hoodie on the walk in. A hoodie I have not lost yet.
Work itself felt like a bit of a long day, it is just meeting after meeting at the moment, no time to do actual work.
Clare is just heading out the door for a late, late, very late night of vote counting. I have panicked her by suggesting the colours she is wearing are not neutral enough. She is not allowed to wear colours of a political party.
She'll be back by about 4am, and I might well still be up watching TV, waiting for the first big name to fall.
Hope you voted the right way. I doubt it. These results are going to be interesting and weird. Right up to yesterday I was thinkig it might be sort of close round here, but the tories would do it. Then I looked at some predicted results, some polls, and they vary between Labour absolutely definitely winning it here, to the ukips actually winning it (they want us to call them reform now but they're reforming nothing, I'll stick with the ukips). No-one is saying the tories can do it. Incredible scenes!
