Blog2024 ≫ Day 3/5 in the office

Another busy day, not actual meetings but a big video call with just a little interaction for me. Two presentations, I got in first with a good question for each one. I hope T1 noticed. Get in first!

Again we'd had no proper breakfast, just a snack bar, so we were raring for lunch. He nearly went for a proper massive stack of meat, but when I said he'd have to have salad with it rather than chips it was less appealing. In the end he went for Japanese barbecue with rice and salad, and I had Malaysian aubergine and tofu with rice and salad. Two different stalls at other ends of Leather Lane but we managed to meet up again successfully.

I had my regular weekly 121 meeting with my manager as a walking meeting, we went round Farringdon, Hatton Garden, then to the nice coffee shop and then back to the office.

T1 worked up an appetite learning more about the job, doing some slightly different training on https://www.freecodecamp.org as recommended by Tim at work. So for tea we headed to Pizza Pilgrim in Exmouth Market. I tried to talk him into a pub dinner so we could watch the football, but he wsa having none of it. When we got to Pizza Pilgrim it was closed because of a technical problem, so we went to Gerry's Hot Subs instead. I really didn't mean to have fries and a drink with mine. Bloated now. Have eaten a lot this week but we're still on track to have something different for every meal.

Now back at the hotel watching the England - Netherlands game in the room, and we're losing 1-0.

There is free Octopus Energy tomorrow 1, I hope Clare anc make use of it while I'm not there. They sound like they had another good day, T2 went on some boat trip with the school, and then they went to Aspendos for dinner.

Estimated 1864 cups of coffee from my espresso machine 2 probably comes to £1.03 a cup (including actual coffee and now servicing 2 but not the electricity).

  1. Join Octopus Energy here and we both earn money.
  2. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.
