444 seems to be a significant number for some:
In cricket, the number 111 is sometimes called "a Nelson" after Admiral Nelson, who allegedly only had "One Eye, One Arm, One Leg" near the end of his life. This is of course not true. Nelson never lost a leg. Alternate meanings include "One Eye, One Arm, One Ambition". Also, the figure of 111 represents cricket stumps without the bails - meaning the batsman is out. Multiples of 111 are called a double Nelson (222), triple Nelson (333) and so on. There are some parkrun challenges that prompt you to tick these numbers off your target list – 111, 222, 333, 444, 555, 666, 777, 888. Well done to today’s parkrunners for achieving your quadruple Nelson (444; also known as a salamander).
