Blog2024 ≫ T1 is languages star of the year

I'm sure he's won this before. He's very good at French. He's surprisingly good at everything, seeing as he just quietly gets on with it and never does any homework.

He's on a half day today, they both are, and so am I! Going to collect T2 for a end of term picnic and then a wander down to the beach after. Not going on too long I hope as I would like to get a hair cut and then a shower before doing the rounds to pick up friends. Then driving to Margate for the evening. Yep, still not drinking, voluntarily driving to see Suede and The Manics.

T2 also won the French prize at his end of school assembly / prize giving, and the maths prize too. Very proud.

Dodgy a pleasingly round thirty years ago today, at the Wedgewood Rooms.

Luckilly my coffee delivery turned up yesterday, wondering if I might have to increase my subscription frequency again. Oh and on subscriptions I think I am going to cancel my last connection with 2000ad. I stopped the weekly 2000ad but kept the Judge Dredd Megazine going, think I'm going to pack that in too. Just not enjoying it. It was often padded out with very old reprints, which would be OK but they are not from the Judge Dredd world. This month they have replace the reprints with some stories which I think were kicked out of the weekly for being unpopular. They are trying to appeal to all ages, and I think they're missing the target. There are some spin off stories in there which are OK, I quite likd Dreadnoughts, and quite like the retro stylings of Judge Dredd 2099, but I'm not getting a lot out of it. I've thought for the last few "I'll give it one more month" but I think I might be done.

Work has actually gone well this week, achieved quite a bit on my New Relic dashboards, will try and lick that into a reusable shape today.

Going to be a hot hot day today I think.

Sunny and light winds, 14 - 25℃.

Guessing 1880 cups of coffee from my espresso machine 1 probably comes to £1.02 a cup (including actual coffee and now servicing 1 so not the electricity).
