Blog2024 ≫ First really nice cup of tea in ages

I'm up first, as usual over the summer. Just heard Clare's alarm go but I think she'll snooze it. I made tea, and mine is espcially nice today. I had been going off tea, drinking a lot more coffee (and I will have a coffee to start work with). I wonder if this is because this was the last teabag in the jar, and there was a lot of loose tea dust in the bottom of the jar so it's extra strong.

Not going to shower before work today (isn't working from home great?) because I will try and go for another run at lunch. I went running yesterday lunchtime, partly to make up for being unlikely to go at the weekend. I checked just in case but there are no parkruns in Belgium. Then there's no parkrun the following Saturday because of some event on The Leas, and I'm not sure about the two following that.

Work busy but not unbearably so. Got some work going live while I am away but I think it is finished. Did what looks to be a waste of time task yesterday, did some work I was asked to do that seems to have had no effect at all. Next got some work to do that is really for another department, a bit unsatisfying. It needs doing but it's not really going to count for anything, not get noticed, everyone will assume it is another department that did it. Still that's not what it is about is it?

Bonus day off tomorrow to go to Go Ape. The boys want to go, with their visiting cousins, it was all planned but they need adults to climb with them and neither Clare nor Auntie Jen want to do it... So we're off to Leeds Castle. Then having the rest of the day to pack should make sure I'm ready for my early start for Belgium.

Sunny intervals and a moderate breeze, 12 - 22℃.

Estimated 1916 cups of coffee from my espresso machine 1 prob'ly comes to £1.02 a cup (including actual coffee and servicing 1 so not the 'leccy).
