Had a day in Canterbury yesterday after parkrun, just Clare and I. Took the boys to Grandpa's house for the day and we went shopping. Didn't really need much but I did get two different kinds oearplugs for my next hostel visit, some new between-the-teeth toothbrushes that all the dentists recommend these days, and a pile of books for the boys. We walked out of the West Gate to The Goods Shed, not been there for years. There we bumped into a friend of Clare's who recommended a pub which we made a note of for ages. Had a lovely lunch fully vegan lunch in Veg Box Cafe and had a look at christmas things in Fenwicks department store. Then stopped for a very nice beer in The Foundry and tried to look at places to stay in York, a trip we are planning soon. Everything's getting booked and the prices are rising, but we'll find a way.
The other recommended pub wasn't a pub at all but a brewery on the Wincheap estate, so we drove there to check it out. It's a really nice place, an actual brewery with their own bar on the front. Quite popular for the location, and looked like they did good pizzas. I got an alcohol free beer there and some to take away for later. We nearly got the pizza too but just about held out.
Back home later to collect the boys, have our tea, and watch several episodes of Only Murders In The Building, finished watching series one again with the boys. We said we'd watch Strictly but we did not, maybe today but with quite a bit of it on fast forward.
⬅️ Of course I'm going to The Darkness :: Really going to do that DIY now ➡️
