Wow booked more tickets for events this year than I have done in recent years. Not only do I have tickets queued up for The Cult and Pixies but now I have a ticket for The Darkness at Portsmouth Guildhall in March. It's a Tuesday, is it even doable? It might just be. If I work in London on the Tuesday, then jump on the train down to Portsmouth, go to the gig, then last train back again and stay in London it should be fine.
Support comes from Ash which is a bonus!
Andy is trying to upsell me to this, I think he'd do it if I did.
Add Buttered Toast to your gig ticket and enjoy the following:
- Access to the soundcheck
- Chance to play a song on stage with the band at soundcheck*
- Goodie bag
- Q&A
- Photo with the band
- Guided tour of the stage
- Exclusive VIP Laminate
- Early access to merch
- Early venue access for the concert
It's £150 extra on top of the £50 already paid for the ticket. It is small change compared to the Oasis tickets say, but it is excessive. Also I don't think I'd have time to get there early enough.
Still not ruling out going to another date on this tour if I get a chance.
I have seen Darkness probably 36 times; Kings Cross Water Rats (2001), Barfly (2001), Barfly (2001), Kings Cross Water Rats ('01), Barfly ('01), Barfly (2001), The Verge (2001), Camden Underworld (2001), The Cut @ Ocean (2001), Notting Hill Arts Club (2001), Kings Cross Water Rats ('01), Barfly (2001), Barfly ('02), Ocean ('02), Bull + Gate (2002), Metro (2002), Kings Cross Water Rats ('02), Ocean ('02), Camden Underworld ('02), Notting Hill Arts Club ('02), Metro ('02), Kings Cross Water Rats ('02), The Garage (2002), The Libertines @ Islington Academy (2002), Def Leppard @ Brixton Academy ('03), 93 Feet East (2003), London Astoria (2003), Glastonbury (2003), HMV (2003), Darkness album launch @ The Cross (2003), Hammersmith Odeon ('03), The Darkness homecoming gig @ London Astoria ('03), Leas Cliff Hall (2004), The Darkness Passport gig @ Barfly ('04), Leas Cliff Hall ('13), + Portsmouth Guildhall (2025).
