Haven't seen weather this fierce for ages. Offered the boys a lift to school but they'd rather get the bus and meet up with friends. I went for a walk before work. Mistake. Had to cut it short and come home and change all my clothes. If it's going to be like this tomorrow in London I will have to take an extra bag of more clothes to change during the day. Might wear my Rohan waterproof trousers anyway.
We got the train tickets booked for York. It was hectic and confusing at the end, but we were able to book advanced tickets and a good price, about half what we were originally looking for. Thought initially this would mean a super tight turnaround from our train pulling in to St Pancras form here and running to the York train at Kings Cross, but no! It's a Friday, and we can get an advance ticket that goes earlier. Are train tickets cheaper on a Friday? My single ticket going in at peak times on a Tuesday is £55 but we could get singles for all four of us for £33 quid. Wonder if I have bought 9pm instead of 9am or something...
