Blog2024 ≫ Productive day

Broken foot is better again, so well enough to go to parkrun. That was really weird, on Wednesday and Thursday I really struggled to walk on it. Something just clicked back into place and now it's fine. More on parkrun in a bit.

Stay in last night as I am on call. Could have got away with going, but thought I would use it as an opportunity to tighten the purse strings too. Last month had lots of outgoings which I am still recovering from, but a sensible month this month will see me right. And then the extra wedge from this week of being on call will put me way ahead of the game again. I could do with buying fewer concert tickets this month too. I probably only bought two last month, Pixies and The Darkness, but it's not a cheap business these days. I think Glastonbury tickets might go on sale during this pay month...

Went to Ashford after parkrun, to take the boys bowling, while Clare is at a spa day. Bowling ws fun, but they both got a bit demotivated. At least it was somethign we could do while I was in reaching distance of my laptop in case I got a call from work. After we went to CEX to exchange a faulty game and then to a great record shop there where I overpaid for a vinyl copy of Love by The Cult. Been thinking about buying it this week as we're off to see them in a couple of weeks. Pleased with the copy I have but could have got it cheaper online. I can't really play it until the boys have finished playing XBox though.

Tonight for tea, pie and mash and maybe a film, maybe another Mission Impossible. Then tomorrow back to junior parkrun for T2 and to the optician to choose some new glasses for me.

Gigiversaries for this day include Smaller twenty-nine years ago today in 1995, Spearmint today in 2000, Duran Duran today in 2003, and David Devant And His Spirit Wife a pleasingly round twenty years ago today in 2004. At Islington Academy, not one of their best I think. This venue is where I now go to the cinema every week.

Light rain showers and a moderate breeze, 4 - 14℃.
