Blog2025 ≫ New Year Resolutions

Well why not. So incredibly unlikely to stick to these, that they're not really resolutions 1. Also a bit of next-level bet-hedging in here, some of these contradict each other. Ten things in order of how likely they are, that I can revisit on 1st January 2026.

  1. Dryanuary - you know this one
  2. Five days a week not drinking - I have done this since about May 2024 2 with only two missed weeks I think, holiday and christmas 3
  3. Runuary - this is good for this list, sort of a resolution. Not top of the list this year, but it is something I will be at least starting
  4. Purge / declutter - every time I use the downstairs loo I say "I'm not reading those Swamp Thing again I should give them away"
  5. Replace the socket in the study - this has been on the list all year already
  6. New running shoes - this one also, it's just been an expensive year
  7. New kitchen
  8. New bathroom - we're into the realms of the unlikely now
  9. Extension - unlikely ++
  10. Move house - I mean so unlikely and certainly contradicting the new extension and probably also other renovations, but you never know

Books and comics in the downstairs loo

Happy New Year btw. Not sure when this will appear I wrote it slightly in advance.

  1. And DAMN just realised I failed to use my "you say you wan't a resolution" headline this year.
  2. Sometimes six days a week not drinking.
  3. What on earth is this going to do for Febrewery? Guess that is off then.

dryanuary: Not drinking for the month of January.

runuary: Running at least 5k every day for the month of January.
