See ya later Tile! I bought a couple of PebbleBee credit card sized tracking devices. They fit in a wallet, so the idea is, you can find your wallet! You can find it with your phone if it's near, and you can find it with your phone and Google Find My Device network if it's far away, using the network. I already had the Tile version of this, and it was fine, but the battery ran out. The tile one did not have a replaceable battery, and it was limited to the Tile network, which far fewer people have. This new one is a) rechargeable, and b) on that google android network so everyone is part of finding it now. It's like the apple airtage that you probably have (Clare has some) but it's not apple.
The thing is, now I have them, and have opened them, and connected them and stashed them safely away, I don't get more fun out of them. The next time I will use these is when I lose my wallet or my bag (I bought two) or when I recharge them in eighteen months time. At least I can recharge them.
I can't link to it in a way that might make me money but this is the apple / ios equivalent 1. I haven't made money off one of those links in ten years or more though I don't think.
It's quite confusing, there's an Android only one (what I have) and an iphone only one, and a universal one here that I didn't know about, and then another universal one, in that it universally works with neither the iphone nor the android network.
There's another company Chipolo that are making these devices, but I did a search and the Pebblebee one seemed better.
Oh my I was at a Sleeper gig THIRTY YEARS AGO TODAY, surely they're a current band? This must have been down The Joiners, Southampton. They're probably still going, maybe they'll be added to this Glastonbury lineup.
