Day off today. The plan is; four trains, ROCK, sleep, four trains, home. Going to see The Darkness tonight in Portsmouth, and to save a few quid I'm getting the slow train via Brighton. It's not much slower than the fast train really, it's just always a slow journey by trains.
Hoping the show goes ahead, I assume we would have heard by now if not. They just had to postpone two shows.
On a related note Gene Simmons seems to have cancelled most of his solo shows, guessing they did not sell as well as he'd hoped. This after he sold the "be a roadie for a day" package for £10k a pop. KISS have announced a new show, after the "end of the road" tour, after the last shows ever, they're doing just one more, in Las Vegas. The thing that makes this OK after the last show ever is that was the last show ever in full make-up, and this will be an unmasked show, at a fan convention.
Nearly time to go. But not quite. I was up at normal time, and now have a gap. I can't get my train until 10am, and I'm going to walk up there. Clare has a day off too and could drive me, but might as well get some exercise. I'll be sat down most of the day.
Travelling super light this time, not even a proper bag. Bit silly really, I've got quite a lot of stuff in the tote bag in the end. But I don't want a backback in case there are delays and I end up going straight to the gig. And, it's hopefully some things I can shed on the way, if I read these Private Eyes and finish this book.
Hoping the weather stays nice, but I'm not outside too much.
Oh looks like I was at The Darkness twenty-two years ago today, at 93 Feet East, in London. Some sort of launch party.
