He's gone off to Ashford with some friends today, having quickly opened his cards and presents and had a breakfast of bacon and croissants. We got him a gaming laptop, so that's installing updates now awaiting his return. We did the family birthday things yesterday, his choices, first to a cafe in Canterbury. Actually he choice Cornish Bakery and we got pasties and cofee. Then to an escape room, the wartime communications based one in the Westgate tower, which was actually used as a comms room during the war.
The Comms Room
A dramatic and high tension WW2 Blitz experience with chaos unfolding around you as if in your own blockbuster movie!
You’re thrown in at the deep end to replace the recently deceased former Air Raid Warden Mr Parsons. Your job is to defend Canterbury from a barrage of air attacks by deploying air defences and performing your duties, all the while unravelling the mystery of an unknown traitor sabotaging your every step.
We escaped in fifty-two minutes with only three small clues. The average time is fifty-five minutes and nine clues, we're great!
Next a gap so we went in The Lady Luck. T2 could not get the arcade machine working though, so we just sat. It was Canterbury Pride so everywhere was busy and colourful and gay. There was no actual even on stage on this year, and the weather was threatening so I don't know what the headline of this event would be. But lots of people in town having a good time. We had to have plastic glasses in the pub because of this but my pint of Otter real ale was great.
Finaly to Pizza Express, and it was good. They've grown their menu, though the vegan spicy melanza option I chose was not available. You can now get actually bigger pizzas for a bit extra, not just the stretched out Romana base. We went for normal sized pizzas with starters though. Clare had wine, I drove back.
T1 did revision last night so as to be more free today.
Billy Joel night on TV last night, great, I kept watching after everyone went to bed.
Sunny intervals and a moderate breeze, 9 - 17℃.
