Blog2025 ≫ Reduced train tickets for the next three weeks

Just sorted out Clare's commuting ticket for Glastonbury week. She normally buys the four week carnet ticket as she travels regularly and it works out best. But Glastonbury week it does not as she's taking a couple of days off so only in one day that week so better to buy odd tickets and then get back on the carnet again. These odd tickets worked out cheaper per day than the regular carnet, as there are some good advanced deals. So I got on it as well and have got tickets for the next three weeks for £36.20 for a peak return, instead of £88. One of those is Glastonbury week, where I do not have to go into work, but I do still need to get to Stratford to get my coach.

I took Clare in today so as to keep the car in case any hold ups with school. They don't generally want a lift, unless there is a bus fail. T1 has a biology exam this morning, only four left now including this one. He's going to come home after that and stay on study leave from now on. It was not official school policy but everyone else was doing it. T2 has his guitar with him today but he's happier getting the bus.

T1 had to buy his first adult train ticket yesterday to go to Ashford. His was £10, his mate's was £1 because he is a few weeks younger, so still a child travelling with an adult!

Sunny intervals and a moderate breeze, 11 - 17℃.
