Blog2025 ≫ Et in Arcadia Ego

Had this phrase in my head for a few days so I thought I should look it up. I think Sleep Token have an album called something like this and I've heard a lot about them recently. Also Arcadia is one of the areas of Glastonbury. It is actually the title of a painting, I think there is a Davinci Code connection to it, or some other hidden message idea if you look at the angles of the arms of the shepherds or something. I might have made that up.

Et In Arcadia Ego by Poussin

The phrase / title is Latin and means "Even in Arcadia there am I". It's written on a tomb in the painting. Arcadia was an idealised paradaise to live in and it's saying something like "yeah even though I lived there I'm still dead.".

I will be checking out Arcadia, and Shangri-La this time. I don't think they even existed on previous visits.

Looks hot out there again. I have an hour to walk, I will go and look for my glasses again.

Sunny and a moderate breeze, 13 - 21℃.
