Good grief I did not know this. When you hear about "The Sandringham Estate" where the royals go for Christmas I thought of like a big country house, long drive, cottages in the grounds of course, lots of security... I didn't realise it was an area of the country that's bigger than Brighton or Nottingham!
The historic, sprawling estate spans approximately 31 sq miles (80 sq km) of gardens - making it around the same size as Nottingham or Brighton and Hove.
It was bought as a private country retreat for the future Edward VII when he was Albert, Prince of Wales in 1862, and has since been passed down from monarch to monarch.
I'm glad the royals are coming under more scrutiny now. Andrew is just the first of them to go I hope, let's see the rest of them off.
I just did some coding, scripted a thing to calculate when I will hit my premium bonds milestone, pleased with that.
