Dove's mesmerising kaledoscopic animations investigate the complex relationship between colour and sounds. Much of her work takes the form of a visual and audio representation of an idea, emotion or perception using animation to reduce experience to its basic state. Brightly coloured amorphous shapes dance to hypnotic music - dividing, multiplying and dissolving. Influences include the experimental filmmaker Len Lye as well as modern masters such as wassily Kandinsky with his intuitive use of colour and Pail Klee who believed that a perfect geometry could be found in the natural world.

This is my website The FG that I built in a fury of excitement when we first came to Folkestone sometime in 2004. I'd been a frequent visitor for a while previous to that but I am technically one of those Down From Londons you get nowadays. This site was updated more frequently with a gig calendar and voting for favourite venues + things, + I hear it was a useful resource for those who were moving here. Now Iʼve moved out of Folkestone again (though only to Hythe) it doesnʼt get as much attention as it used to. Ironic really as Folkestone itself is now becoming the exciting place we always thought it was just about to. My name is not Gerald by the way, the name comes from a pretend newspaper in an episode of The Day Today or something, the Portsmouth Gerald, and how there is a local newspaper here called the Folkestone Herald. Puns like this are GRATE arenʼt they? Do get in touch if you have something to offer, email anythign @ this domain, or try @folkestone or @pauly on Twitter.
