Blog ≫ 2014 ≫ Android app for freesat on the way. Eventually...
Hmm been promised for a while 1 but Clare found this 2 which says there will be an iphone / ipad app only on the way soon. Not a good sign to me that they're developing it with just one platform in mind (and it's not my platform) does not make sense to me. It is surely only sending traffic over the network to the box, so not using anything iphone specific.
Here's more on that HUMAX update 3:
Support for remote recordings and reminders from the companion Freesat iOS App. The App will be available in the App Store later this month
Support for remote control of Freetime box from the companion Freesat iOS App. The App will be available in the App Store later this month
EPG Improvements
Confirmation prompt when deleting a recorded series
Improved stability when changing channels in non-Freesat mode
Improvements when reading a Media list from a NTFS formated USB device
Improvements to the display of Recorded Programmes when switching on from Standby
Improvements when Copying media or Deleting recordings
Improved display of Server contents in Humax > Media Share
Hmm ios app does not sound good - that reinforces the iphone / ipad only idea.
Have not investigated the non freesat related changes fully yet, sounds like I might get more out of using my box as a PVR (though mostly we use the xbmc4 for this now). Hopefully someone will leak the protocol of how to communicate with the box over the network.

XBox Media Centre, some software that would run on an old xbox or other computer hardware to play movies and music etc. I used to talk about this a lot...
