PaulyGigography1984 ≫ Black Flag

Thu May 24 1984

Pipers Nightclub Tontine Street, Folkestone, Kent CT20 1JU

Someone previously here reported that nme reported that Husker Du also played with Black Flag here... but I'm sure that said 1985 not 1984. More investigation needed.

Aha, Husker Du were scheduled to play but got dropped from the tour according to this website 1. These should have been the UK dates:

  1. Removed old metallipromo.com/husker.html link here.
  2. See the Marquee ad, Jerry Floyd supported everyone there that week, some kind of house band / artist.
  3. The Tin Can Club was a renowned Birmingham music venue and nightclub located on Bradford Street in Digbeth, active during 1983–1985. It was known as an underground hotspot for gothic rock, new wave, and post-punk bands, hosting artists like R.E.M., Death Cult, The Alarm, and The Sisters of Mercy before closing in 1985.
  4. Former live music venue located at 92 Sauchiehall Street.
  5. More likely Bradford, surely? Some say The Bierkeller venue is Bradford rather than Leeds, hmm.
  6. Dortmunder Bierkeller, there is a film of this night.
  7. Milton Street, under the Victoria Centre. Opened as Intercon and then became Tiffany's. Closed as Zhivago's in 1989.
  8. AKA Pipers.
