Southampton Joiners 141 St Mary Street, Southampton, Hampshire SO14 1NS

With the Smoking Popes. I saw them in Manchester around this time too, maybe at the Night and Day? I went up to stay with Richy at university 1.

Think this is part of my "twenty gigs in twenty days" challenge I did with three weeks off work, but I can't remember exactly when it started or ended... if that is the case why is this one so far apart from the others? Setlist.fm says I have the date correct and it was the 17th March. So maybe not part of that at all.

Expanding this table to 14 days either side while I try to figure out my "twenty bands in twenty days" schedule...

  1. Yep fixed that one up now, found it via the closeness to a Pulp gig.
  2. And possibly not.
  3. University of Surrey Students Union.
  4. The Borderline.
  5. Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms.
  6. Southampton Joiners.
  7. Portsmouth Pyramids.
  8. Portsmouth Guildhall.
  9. Leas Cliff Hall.

I was at this one, more from this year in my gig history for 1996. I saw Tripping Daisy at least TWO times; Manchester Roadhouse ('96), and Southampton Joiners (1996), though I still have some bragging tagging to do so this may go up. Part of all the gigs I went to from '87 to 2026. It's an obvious step from my Best gigs of all time blog post. Yeah I know it's a bit geeky, let's let that go though, I'm enjoying reminiscing about these things.
